Led by Saluhan collaborators, MJ Flamiano and Catherine Ortega-Sandow, Fugitive Archives is a year-long curatorial project that explores how artist-led and independent archives can be powerful tools for collective organising—especially for Filipino and BIPOC artists whose contributions have often been marginalised in institutional contexts. Drawing on the work of The Undercommons by theorists Fred Moten and Stefano Harney’s, they will think through ways that art and archival practice can foster self-authorship, challenge dominant narratives, and generate shared knowledge.
Featuring artists: Alfred Marasigan, Czar Kristoff & Unrelearning, Gary Lee, Lesley-Anne Cao, Nice Buenaventura, Pagbasa Archive, Pio Abad, Saluhan, Stephanie Misa, Stephanie Syjuco.
